Performances
Today we had our first rehearsal with the narrator and we all are so delighted with Lupin. The music is so transparant and beautiful and it so nice for us to play it. We feel happy that we 'discovered' Lupin and it will definitely be a big success in Amsterdam!!
. . . In spring all the children of Amsterdam will be singing the Lupinsong!

Amsterdam 2006: Mar 31, Apr 3/5, Vondelpark Aug 16, Grachtenfestival 18/19
The concerts in the Grachtenfestival were indeed very successful.
We're very happy Susan [Brinkhof] discovered `Lupin, the Pot-Bellied Pig' and glad we were able to perform it. It is a delightful piece.
Congratulations on the launch of your first CD, what a wonderful initiative.
We are very interested to hear any other works Keith Amos wrote.
Sarah Koolschijn, NedPhO Go! (Netherlands Philharmonic), Aug 2006
Lupin's tale is captivating and jolly, telling of pastoral adventures on the enchanting island of Sark.
Amos' astounding compositional ability enhances this story.
Powers Quintet USA, Centaur Records 2006
An obvious success to Peter & the Wolf.

. . . This wonderful music portrays the story with enchanting imagination.
Rhein-Necker Zeitung, Feb 1998
. . . 6000 children enjoyed your enchanting music.
Ester Lange (after 11 performances), Sweden Oct 2001
. . . What fun! The concert was great. . . I told the students a little about Hans Christian Andersen and then told them about the composer. I read the story to them [from the Easy Piano Picture Book] and we listened to the examples that you sent on the CD. I had them answer some questions: Who wrote the story, Who wrote the music, What is an illustrator, What instruments do you hear.

I also had them draw and color a picture of their favorite part as we continued to listen to the wonderful music. Valerie Entzi (Teacher) Minot Symphony Orchestra, North Dakota, USA - Jan 2007 |
High class music for children exists in only exiguous quantities so any worthwhile new-comer to this repertoire is extremely welcome . . .
. . . Amos has composed a delightful score for this narration of one of Hans Andersen's most famous stories and must be congratulated on the writing of such deft atmospheric quality. . .
. . . I thoroughly recommend all music organisers to get either paino or full score.
Musical Times, March 1994
Our first two (2) scoolconsert was today for 5.000 children and it was a great succé. I wich that you could se it. It was marvelous.
Inger Ericsson, Gothenbugh Symphony Orchestra, first of 11 concerts Sept 05
A group of children sent Bruno Piqué a letter, asking about if could be possible to repeat the concert of LA CERDITA LUPE, and the councelor opened his heart and decided to look for a date and make two more sessions of the concert with puppets.
. . .a friend in La Palma Island interested on how to get the score of Lupin...
Darío talked to a man with a little big proyect. It will be: to play Lupin through all of the small villages in Tenerife, playing the music of Lupin with the band of each village...
As you can see, Lupe is getting bigger and bigger...
Moisés Évora de la Rosa, Banda Tenerife, Dec '05
The highlight of the concert was the North American premier of The Steadfast Tin Soldier, a piece concertgoers will doubtless hear again and again.
. . .the works two primary themes are not only hummable but linger in the mind. . . the march like soldier's theme and wistful loveliness of the dancer's theme.
The sentimental in the audience no doubt shed a tear or two.
Louisiana Times, US, Nov 1997
Our friends from Wild Basin Winds joined us in April for their final performance of the year. They played a piece by Keith Amos, the composer of The Steadfast Tin Soldier. Lupin the Pot-Bellied Pig is a simple, comforting story of a warm summer's day on the remote island of Sark.
Audience participation included saying "oink, oink, oink" and "muddy, muddy, muck." (Our children loved that part.) The children had already learned about the oboe, clarinet, French horn, and flute from the previous performance of Peter and the Wolf. With this new composition, the children also learned about the bassoon.

The Linfield College Community Band recently performed our "Sounds of Scandinavia" Spring Band concert with Rolf Kristian Stang (Scandinavian/American Actor from New York City) as Hans Christian Andersen. The program was a huge success - we also performed a children's concert for all 3rd grade children (9-10yrs old) in the community. I believe over 600 children were in attendance! I am writing just to let you know of the success and also to ask you into what other languages the Amos work has been translated? Thank you and best wishes!
Joan Paddock, USA - April 2005
I got the easy piano picture book yesterday. Thank you very very much.....but I was surprised little bit because this is really like a "complete" picture book.....it is wonderful!! And you are designer and illustrator! You illustrated Tin Soldier! I deeply appreciate your kindness. Ms I T Japan
